I am a HUGE Roadshow fan, and it was one of my greatest dreams to get to go to the Roadshow. When I saw that AR was coming to my city, I applied for tickets, assuming that since I did it very early I would be "on the list." Then it dawned on me that there would be way more applications than spots and that they would do a "drawing" to see who got the coveted tickets. I failed to get on Wheel of Fortune twice with this 'luck be a lady' approach so I knew there was no way my name would be drawn. Ah, but our enterprising local PBS station flashed an offer: "for a $400 donation" I could get 2 tickets - guaranteed. We support public TV so when my dear husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I didn't hesitate: "I want to go to the Antiques Roadshow!" A bit of eye rolling ensued, but he's a good sport so we gave the $$$$ and WE GOT THE TICKETS.
